WebFeb 6, 2014 · Nothing wrong with a 38 +P gun. But in many cases you can buy a gun that will shoot 357 and 38 too and I figure it's worth having the versatility -- even if I shoot mostly 38 sp. The only exception to this would be the very light J frames for CC. I have a 642 in 38 sp +P, buy most of my larger guns are 357s.
