WebFigure 11 is a line chart grouping facilities into four main industrial sectors and shows the changes in the facility-reported GHG emissions for each of these sectors between 2005 and 2024. In 2005, the Utilities sector was the highest GHG-emitting sector, followed by the Manufacturing sector, and the Mining, and Oil and Gas Extraction sector. WebThe industrial sector that includes mining, manufacturing, and construction has produced as much as 21 percent of carbon dioxide emissions in 2014. According to a report , the five industry categories of paper, food, petroleum refineries, chemicals and metal/mineral products are responsible for contributing the most greenhouse gases.
