WebMar 16, 2010 · I inherited a Peavey triple X combo from a friend 60 watt 1x12 this thing has a ton of gain on tap, I have never heard an amp with this much gain before. Anyway I'm not digging the tone, it sounds kinda mushy not loose buy mushy hard to describe. Anyway I have actually heard good things about this amp but never expected it to be so bland and dull

WebMay 19, 2024 · I've got a 2004 Peavey Triple X, which is a nice amp. However, the Celestions I'm using just ain't makin' the grade. The Egnater 4x12 Armageddon Cab has 2 G12T-75's and 2 Celestion Egnater "Elite 100" speakers (K-100's). The amp can use 6L6's or EL34's. I'm using 6L6's for now. I HATE these speakers with this amp.
