The 850 C S had the double boosters while the 1,000 cfm had just the inside "small" booster and thus had very poor idle qualities. 2nd is the 1971 Thermoquad only used on the 340 engines; it was a decent carb, with 1-3/8" od primary butterflies & 2-1/4"
WebbI'm trying to find out the cfm of the original thermoquad carburetor on my 84 dodge dump truck. Its a 1 ton 350 power ram with a 360 engine. Carburetor number is TQ-9379S and the chrysler number is 4287016. I can't find the cfm in the manual or searching the internet. Webb18 aug. 2015 · In their day the Carter ThermoQuad was their equivilant to the Rochester QuadraJet In principle. The bakelite fuel bowl on the TQ is sort of fragile, subject to stripped threads and it sounds like in your case, possibly a cracked fuel bowl. I believe the TQ was rated at 850 CFM @ 1.5" pressure drop.

Type one: Press in jets slip into their orifice with an o-ring seal. Use a pair of pliers and slight twisting motion to remove and install these jets. It will only open enough to satisfy that demand so it's a very versitile carb and should be fine on your engine.
